Hema performed live as a Honoured Guest at the Tejaswini Garba Nite in Powai, rendering two songs to the delight of the huge audience, in Oct 2011

Hema rendered songs live at Azad Maidan, for none other than Shri Anna Hazare ji himself at his meet, just prior to his historical fast, in Mumbai in August 2011.

In June 2011, when Kiran Bedi held a press conference on IAC in Mumbai, Hema rendered the introduction shlokas , at Churchgate, Mumbai.

Hema attended the event in New Delhi for the GLOBAL INDIAN MUSIC AWARDS in September 2011.

Hema as Guest of Honour, attended the occasion of Fitness training for kids, at Vile Parle-E, Mumbai, on the occasion of Shri Priya Dutt’s late Father, Sunil Dutt’s birth anniversary, on 6th June 2011.

Hema was yet again Chief Guest at the camp held for underpriviledged children in Powai, Mumbai, May 2011.

Hema actively interacted and was Chief Guest at the summer camp for orphan children at Goregaon –East, Mumbai, in May 2011.

Hema was awarded the HIRAMANEK Award titled INTERNATIONAL WOMEN ACHIEVERS AWARD on women’s day 8th March 2011

Hema released a song titled ‘She is a Winner’ on the global artistaloud.com, for women empowerment, on 8th March 2011.

In November 2010, Hema was Special Guest at one of the IFFI 2010 events, in Goa, wherein she participated and encouraged the felicitation, of Veteran Musician of the Indian Film Industry, Shri Anthony Gonsalves.

Hema rendered a serious talk on her lifetime achievements, struggles and joys to inspire the staff of Asian Paint. Her speech was deeply appreciated.

In June 2010 Hema was yet again Chief Guest at the Concert of Female students of the Noopur Dance Academy, in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, wherein she encouraged young girl Dance students.

In May 2010 Hema Graced the summer camp for underpriviledged kids in Mumbai, as Chief Guest.

In March 2011, Hema was Chief Guest at the College of Law festival, in Churchgate, Mumbai, to encourage the students.

On special request, after composing, writing and rendering the most loved ‘Power of Life’ for the ‘Girl Child’ at the AoL International Woman’s conference in June 2008, and Hema once again, composed, wrote and rendered ‘She is a Leader’ for empowerment of woman, for the AoL International woman’s conference held in Feb 2009. For the 2010 International women's conference held in Bali, Indonesiain March yet again Hema composed, wrote and rendered a new song. All the above contribution was done free of cost by Hema towards women empowerment.

Smita Thackeray's bollywood friends Poonam Dhillon, Hema Sardesai, Kamini Khanna, Yukta Mukhi, Tanuja Chandra, Sarika and Alka Yagnik came to wish her all the very best for this new effort towards women empowerment at a rally held in Juhu, Mumbai in March 2010. Hema Sardesai sang two songs for Women’s Day and graced the occasion.

On 11th March 2009, Hema attended a gathering for under-priviledged children from orphanages all over Mumbai and chatted with them and encouraged them to be confident and bold in showing off their artistic talents.

Without charging any fee - On 24th of December 08, Hema graced the occasion to inaugurate the exhibition of the FIRST GENERATION school children of Dharavi, Mumbai, affiliated to AoL and sang a few lines for the kids.

When under-priviledged girls were invited for a film in town, on 7th Jan 09, Hema made it a point to be present here as a special guest to encourage the young girls.

Hema attended the concert of Pranjali International school in Mumbai on 17th feb 09, and sang a few lines to encourage the tribal girls of Lasina school from the kolam tribe, a tribe that worships every daughter that is born.

She is the only well-known Indian female singer to give 'Rs 50,000/- only towards the chief ministers Tsunami fund, Goa in 2005, other than contributing towards NGO's such as CRY, Mother Tereza's Ashrams, etc.

Other than performing at several SatSangs without any fee attached, Hema has also sung for albums, such as an album on Mata Sherawali and another for Lord Krishna, for the Brindavan committee, etc wherein her personal fees also will go towards charity.

Hema won the Grand Prix in Germany and was termed The Audience Darling in 1989 and was publicly declared 'The Indian Nightingale' by the European Media.

Later on she represented India at the International UNICEF concert where she sang along with the likes of Lisa Minelly etc.

Tony Mercedes of LAFACE record fame, producer of TLC Albums, recorded several songs with Hema in Atlanta, USA, on his own cost.

Other than several nominations of 'Best Female Singer' at prestigious award ceremonies of MTV, Channel V, Zee Music etc., in 2006 Hema was awarded the 'Gomant Tejaswini Award' by the All India Woman's conference, an award that is presented to an able woman with International achievements, only every fourth year.

In December 2006 Hema took up the social cause of 'The Save Goa' campaign and appearances at several public gatherings and exhibitions across Goa, including that of the first public meeting of the GBA, towards Saving the Goan land and people from land sharks, drug traffickers, pedophiles, etc.

In March 2007, The Newspaper O Heraldo termed Hema as 'The Great Goan Woman'.

Recently Hema has wholeheartedly produced an album of modern Spiritual songs, titled 'JHOOM', sung, written and composed by her, for her beloved GURUJI 'Shri Shri Ravishankar's' Art of Living Foundation, wherein even her personal fee for the album will go towards charity.

In May 2007, Hema performed live at the Art of Living meet in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh She did not charge any fee for these performances which were to motivate young school children to lead a drug-free, vice-free life. Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, Hema's beloved Guru Himself said 'Hema Rocked the satsangs'. The newspapers rang out with news of Hema's performance which other than rocking thousands at three satsangs, also made the school and college kids of Kullu valley jump and dance with abandon on divine rock songs.

In June 2007 Hema was presented the 'International Woman Achievers Award' by none other than Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Himself and His sister Ms Bhanu 'Didi'. At the conference Hema's song 'Power Of Life' composed and written by Hema herself, was greatly acclaimed by all the ladies present at the conference from all over the world.

Later, Hema also performed, without charging a fee, at the entertainment evening and had everyone dancing with abandon to the divine Rock songs, from JHOOM.

In Sept 2007, Hema, also influenced by Sri Sri's concern for the Girl child, took up the cause seriously and released the song 'Power of Life' as a video propagating 'SAVE THE GIRL CHILD' on all major TV channels. She went there on to propagate the seriousness of the Girl Child issue on the national media and also in all her live performances in Himachal, Bihar, Punjab, Maharashtra etc.

In Nov 2007, Hema stood on the podium in Panjim, Goa, along with many protestors, who were on a fast for justice, protesting against SEZs (Special economic zones) in Goa. Hema stated that Sezs are inappropriate for Goa, as there is hardly any barren land available to accommodate the gigantic real estate plans of the SEZs and also that the infrastructure in Goa being inadequate for the local Goans would not suffice the needs of more people entering to reside in Goa, hence there could be an uncalled for slum promotion and other evils.

In Dec 2007, Hema was invited to be chief guest at a drawing competition of destitute kids by Sterilite Foundation, at Marine Lines, Mumbai. Hema accepted the invite and even drew pictures, mingling with the children.

At her recent concerts in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Goa etc Hema has strongly stressed on the 'SAVE THE GIRL CHILD' issue.

Since May 2008 Hema has been spreading awareness throughout India as to how important 'Saving Goa' and 'Saving The Girl Child' is for all Indians.

At all her shows, National and International, Hema always made her country India and native place Goa, Proud of Her, as all the organizers and audiences of the shows will confirm.

Some of Hema's social contributions, FREE OF FEE, for the betterment of Goans:-

As a child Hema rendered her voice to her first Goan Album dedicated to St. Francis Xavier.
Other than the above mentioned album, Hema released two more albums in Konkani, to promote the language, titled Cu Cu Ru Cu Cu and Goa Zaai.
As a teenager Hema sang as main soprano singer at the papal mass, when Rev Pope John Paul 11 visited Goa.
Hema sang in many charity gatherings all over Goa through the show named 'Svaranjali', etc.
Hema helped to boost many 'orchestra' artistes in Goa by making guest appearances at their shows.
Hema rendered her voice to Goa's well-kown percussionist, Bondo's album.
She made a special appearance at the 'I Love Panjim' show in Panjim to promote cleanliness in Panjim town.
As Guest of honour, she graced the occasions of the 'All Goa Journalists Meet' in Panjim.
As Chief Guest from 2003 Hema graced the following occasions, to encourage Goan Talent, including
The Youth Festival in Canacona.
The Fugdi Contest in Porvorim.
The Woman's Welfare cultural contest in Panjim.
The Lok Utsav in Paiguinim.
The Gomantak Singing talent contest, in Campal, Etc.
Also as Chief Guest, Hema inaugurated several significant establishments and released albums by several bands of Goa including 'Mog', the album of the blind Artiste of Goa, Babush Santana in Panjim in 2008.
In 2008, Hema also rendered her voice to a Goan Album, to encourage upcoming Goan singers, titled 'Sobit Amchen Goy'.
She was the first to monetarily contribute towards the world record holding Goan Rangoli artiste, Neelesh Naik, when she graced the occasion of his Rangoli rendition.

In Feb 2008, as an anti-drug addiction protest, Hema performed live at the AOL 'Anandotsav', before a large audience in Margao-Goa, wherein Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji Himself was present. She also goaded the government to take stringent action on drug trafficking in Goa.

She graced the Occasion to promote Goan Solidarity at Chandor in Goa alongwith Wendell rodricks, Prajal Sakhardande, Manuel Caldiera and others.

In all occasions in regard to 'Saving Goa' Hema was the only celebrity who was present all along, hence proving how important the issue is for her.

In June 2008 Hema at a meeting of GPA, in Panjim Goa, Hema pledged to 'fast until death' if required to 'save' Goa.
